From the Longbox – Conan #0

Carey Nord’s rendition of Conan the Cimmerian and the world that he inhabits is one of a kind. It can be reminiscent of Frazetta’s oil painting style. However, it is the dynamic swordplay and barbarian fighting that made me pick up this title every month. He gave me what I wanted from the bronzed Crom-worshipper: enemies getting cut in half. Limbs lost. Heads rolling all over the place. Conan, yeah.
The story arcs of this Conan series from Dark Horse are retellings of original Robert E Howard tales. Stories like the Tower of the Elephant and The Frost Giant’s Daughter. It all flows together very well for being a very episodic/serial type collection of books.
